Job summary

Western Environmental Testing Laboratory is seeking a Sample Control Lead to manage the sample control infrastructure and lead the team to meet quarterly and annual priorities. Under general supervision, you will supervise the Sample Control staff, implement policies, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Client Services Manager to maintain high service quality and client satisfaction.

• 2+ years of management experience.
• Prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Must pass an employment criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and lead Sample Control efforts – lead teams to exceed targets.
• Develop, mentor staff and create an environment to exceed goals.
• Deliver client-driven service and control costs by monitoring daily standards.
• Achieve departmental goals and align with strategic plan.
• Coordinate with Client Services Manager and laboratory staff.
• Ensure staff coverage during business hours and manage scheduling.
• Oversee onboarding, training, and policy reviews.
• Maintain safety training and ensure protocols followed.
