We are seeking a Salesforce Data Cloud (D360) Tech Lead to join our project team and support the solutioning, implementation and optimization of customer data solutions. This role will be instrumental in translating the architectural foundation established by the architects into a scalable, production-ready solution. The Tech Lead will provide technical leadership across the implementation lifecycle, ensuring best practices, quality standards and successful delivery. The ideal candidate combines deep D360 expertise with proven experience leading technical implementations and taking Data Cloud solutions from design through production deployment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement D360 solutions to enable unified customer profiles (Customer 360) from ingestion through to activation
- Configure and manage Data Streams, Data Models, Identity Resolution Rules, and Calculated Insights
- Design and troubleshoot data ingestion, harmonization, and transformation pipelines across native and external data sources (e.g., SAP via SFTP/API), and evaluate batch versus streaming approaches to optimize data freshness, credit consumption, and downstream reliability
- Implement Zero Copy Data Federation with platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
- Contribute to POCs and client deliveries, ensuring best practices and data quality standards
- Design and support the activation of Data Cloud data into downstream systems (Marketing Cloud Engagement, core Salesforce CRM/Service Cloud, and other activation targets), including Direct vs. Related Attribute activation and real‑time activation patterns
- Troubleshoot data, identity and performance‑related issues
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and oversight to the team, including review, problem‑solving, development standards and implementation best practices
- Collaborate closely with client, architects, team and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Monitor and optimize Data Cloud credit consumption (ingestion, transformations, identity resolution, calculated insights, segmentation, and activation) using Digital Wallet and platform rate cards, and advise clients on cost‑efficient architecture choices
- Support data privacy and consent requirements, including consent capture and enforcement across segmentation and activation, as well as Right to Be Forgotten and other data subject rights processes
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience delivering at least one complex Salesforce D360 implementation into a production environment, with multiple successful implementations strongly preferred
- Understanding of Customer 360, Data Models, Data Streams, Identity Resolution, and Calculated Insights
- Knowledge of Data Models, Data Streams, and Data Lake Objects, including native vs. external connector ingestion patterns and Zero Copy Data Federation for querying external platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake without ingesting or duplicating data
- Understanding of Segmentation and Activation, including Direct vs. Related Attributes and batch vs. streaming vs. real‑time activation behavior and cost trade‑offs
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud activation
- Hands‑on experience with Salesforce D360 through client project delivery and/or internal or external POCs
- Understanding of data concepts, including data modeling, harmonization, data quality, and identity management
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, ideally SAFe
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams and closely with the client
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
- Nice to have Salesforce Data D360 certification
- Experience setting up a greenfield D360 environment
- Background in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and the Salesforce Core Platform
- Familiarity with AI in Salesforce solutions
- Experience in a complex architectural landscape (MuleSoft, SAP, Kafka)
