Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support daily store operations in Arkansas. You will unload trucks, stock and display merchandise, assist customers, and operate the register to total purchases and provide change.

You’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment and support leadership in the absence of store management. The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy in cashier duties, accuracy in plan-o-gram execution, and teamwork across store operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following the store's prescribed process.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face items on shelves, build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise, collect payment and make change.
• Maintain clean store areas and handle debris and trash, ensure safety.
