Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker lead to support store operations in Knoxville. The role includes opening/closing the store in the absence of management, assisting with planogram setup, and delivering exceptional customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will unload deliveries, stock and rotate merchandise, operate the cash register, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Basic math and money handling accuracy demonstrated.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate a cash register and scanner.
• Knowledge of safety rules and loss prevention practices.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Ability to read plan‑of‑gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned and recovered goods.
• Follow ordering practices for zones and drop shipments.
• Assist with plan‑o‑gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise and maintain store cleanliness.
• Operate cash register, bag items, and handle payments.
• Open/close store per directions of Area Manager.
• Maintain cashier accountability, cash drawers, and security practices.
