Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker in a lead capacity to support the store in the absence of the Store Manager. The role focuses on timely stock replenishment, plan-o-gram adherence, and outstanding customer service to maximize store profitability and satisfaction.

The position requires basic math, cash handling accuracy, and strong communication. You will handle registers, assist customers, and maintain a safe, organized retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; maintain shelves and displays.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and provide receipts.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; support loss prevention.
