Job summary

Genesis Women\'s Shelter & Support in Dallas seeks a Lead Sales Associate to provide customer service, assist with selling merchandise, organize items, and manage donation sorting in our store.

You will oversee volunteers, train staff, and maintain a clean, safe sales floor, backroom, and warehouse while ensuring damaged or low-quality items are removed. The role requires standing long hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, and effective communication; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or related retail fields.
• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent voice and demeanor; pleasant in all situations.
• Ability to stand for 7+ hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and move heavy racks.
• Self-starter with little to no onsite supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure area of responsibility is organized, clean, and safe for customers, including collecting trash and cleaning floors.
• Sort donations, tag with prices, and display merchandise appropriately.
• Transfer merchandise from backroom to the sales floor.
• Oversee volunteers assigned to the store, assist with training and scheduling.
• Maintain the sales floor; remove damaged or low-quality items.
• Keep store areas clean, organized, safe, and sanitized.
• Accept donations, acknowledge donors, offer donation forms, and store donations that are not appropriate season.
• Assist with storage of off-season donations including bagging, moving and shelving.
• Provide positive and helpful customer service to all customers.

Job description

Genesis Women\'s Shelter & Support is a non-profit agency providing a continuum of care for women and children who are victims of family violence. The Lead Sales Associate will provide customer service to all customers, assist with selling products, organize merchandise, assist with donation sorting. The Lead Sales Associate will work with sorting, tagging, displaying and folding merchandise andclean-up of the store, backroom, warehouse, and any other areas.

• Ensures that area of responsibility is organized, clean, and safe for customers. Including collecting and throwing the trash, cleaning the floors, and assisting with donations that are not sold.


• Sort of donations, tagging with prices and displaying merchandise for theappropriate season and needs.


• Transferring merchandise to from the backroom to the sales floor.


• Oversee volunteers assigned to the store, assist with training and scheduling.


• Maintain the sales floor ensuring that all damaged or low quality items are removed.


• Maintain the sales floor and general areas of the store ensuring they are clean, organized, free of any safety hazards and sanitized


• Accepts donations, acknowledge the donor, offer donations form, and store donations that are not appropriate season.


• Assist with storage of off-season donations including bagging, moving and placing on shelf.


• Provides positive and helpful customer services to all customers

Skills / Requirements:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related retail fields, a plus


• Experience in a thriving fast-paced retail environment


• Must have excellent voice and demeanor that is pleasant in all situations


• Ability to be on your feet for seven or more hours, left up to 50lbs or more, assist with pulling or pushing heavy racks, and the ability to move actively throughout the day


• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with little to no onsite supervision


• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written


• Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a highly fast-paced environment


• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
