Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Lead Safety & Environmental Analyst to support DSN Operations and Maintenance for JPL and NASA at Fort Irwin, CA. You will lead safety programs, investigate incidents, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA and NFPA with a focus on occupational safety.

This role requires strong risk management, data analysis of OSHA logs, and collaboration with site management and government stakeholders. U.S. citizenship and a California driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA + 8 years of experience; MS/MA + 6 years; PhD + 3 years; or 4 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, and APCD regulations; NASA familiarity is a plus
• Demonstrated experience leading safety programs in complex industrial or government facility environments
• Experience with construction safety oversight and managing shifting project priorities
• Ability to analyze EHS data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Valid California driver's license (Read-ID)
• U.S. citizenship required; must pass background check and NCIC screening

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs for high-hazard work (electrical, elevated, confined space, heavy equipment)
• Investigate incidents; identify root causes and drive corrective actions to closure
• Conduct hazard assessments, JSAs, and MOC reviews
• Perform and lead EHS audits, field observations, and self-assessments; report findings to leadership
• Lead or support emergency response planning and exercises
• Analyze safety performance data (OSHA 300 logs, LTIR, frequency rates) and present trends to stakeholders
