Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician for our Emergency and Critical Care team in La Mesa, CA. You will play a crucial role in caring for pets in need, from diagnostics to hospitalization and discharge.

You will support veterinarians, maintain patient flow, assist in surgeries, and communicate treatment plans to clients. A fast-paced environment and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Triage.
• Registered Veterinary Technician or Highly Skilled Veterinary Assistant.
• Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
• Team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in line with veterinary tech guidelines.
• Communicate with clients about health concerns and treatment plans.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.
