Job summary

The Florida State Guard in Lakeland, Florida is seeking a Multi-Engine Reciprocal Aircraft Pilot to join its aviation team. The role requires FAA certifications, extensive fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight hours, and the ability to operate state-owned aircraft in support of mission deployment.

As part of a dedicated state force, you will perform preflight inspections, comply with FAA regulations, coordinate with partner agencies, and participate in emergency response and security tasks.

Qualifications

• FAA certifications (civilian military aviation certifications accepted)
• Commercial Pilot and Multi-Engine ratings
• FAA flight instructor certification or ability to obtain within 3–6 months
• Over 3000 hours fixed-wing and 3000 hours rotary-wing flight time

Responsibilities

• Pilot state-owned and leased aircraft in support of FSG missions
• Perform preflight inspections before each flight
• Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA rules and FSG procedures
• Support aerial photography and search & rescue missions
• Provide aerial security for state property and officials
• Maintain aircraft in safe, ready-to-fly condition
