Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Senior Principal Robotics Hardware Architect to lead hardware design for advanced robotic systems.

The role emphasizes chip-level hardware within complete robotic platforms and requires hands-on experience beyond systems integration. You will influence product roadmaps, collaborate across AI, sensing, power and motion teams, and work with customers to translate requirements into robust silicon and subsystem solutions in a fast-growing robotics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 10+ years of experience in an industrial/commercial robotics domain.
• Experience taking sophisticated robotic subsystems from architecture through working hardware.
• Deep familiarity with humanoid, mobile robotics, collaborative robots architectures and subsystem electronics.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor-based system design, including analog and mixed-signal signal chains, data converters, embedded processors, power electronics or custom silicon.
• Hands-on experience with schematic design, printed circuit boards, board bring-up, laboratory instrumentation, debugging and design verification.
• Working knowledge of motors, encoders, motor-control electronics, position feedback and real-time control.
• Experience integrating tactile, force, torque, position, current, vision or other sensing into a closed-loop robotic system.
• Ability to work across electrical, mechanical, firmware, controls, artificial-intelligence and systems disciplines.
• Good communicator with a strong ability in technical presentation and collateral generation.

Responsibilities

• Match customer problem statements to ADI technology solutions and provide technical guidance.
• Work with ADI technology groups to understand and position robotics technology differentiation.
• Support the creation and optimization of system architectures for robotics solutions.
• Expand ADI domain knowledge in humanoid, mobile, and outdoor robots and trends.
• Translate system requirements into subsystem and silicon requirements.
• Help drive next generation product roadmaps for connectivity, power, vision and motor control.
• Support local sales and FAEs in deep technical discussions with robotics customers in the USA.
