Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking an Engineer 6 to lead the Road Design Squad in Baton Rouge. You will supervise plan preparation, and act as an expert in hydraulic and geometric design.

The role requires a Louisiana Professional Engineer license with 2 years of licensed experience or 6 years of professional experience; advanced degrees may substitute. The position offers a promotion path within DOTD’s Road Design Section.

Qualifications

• Engineering license with Louisiana PE required.
• Experience requirements: 2 years post-licensure or 6 years professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of plan preparation by a design squad in Road Design.
• Ensure conformance to AASHTO policies and Louisiana standards.
• Manage workload and project scope, cost and schedule for 10–15 projects.
