Job summary

Roscoe Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in the Catskills is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead the clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit and ensure high-quality resident care.

You will supervise nursing staff, coordinate care across disciplines, and drive regulatory compliance and quality initiatives within a supportive team environment. This full-time role features day shift with rotating on-call weekends and a competitive salaried compensation package.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• New York State RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a long-term care setting.
• 3-5 years of long-term care experience with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, and long-term care regulations.
• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate care across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities.
• Experience with quality improvement, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical care and daily operations of an assigned nursing unit
• Supervise nursing staff, nursing assistants, rehabilitation aides, and unit support staff
• Conduct resident assessments and ensure care plans are implemented, updated, and followed appropriately
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes with providers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Review provider orders, laboratory results, incident reports, and quality indicators
• Participate in care plan meetings, family meetings, QAPI activities, and interdisciplinary rounds
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, transfers, outside appointments, and resident services
• Ensure accurate documentation, medication management, and regulatory compliance
• Support staff education, orientation, coaching, and performance management activities
• Monitor infection control, immunization tracking, resident safety, and quality improvement initiatives
• Address resident, family, and staff concerns while promoting a positive care environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned
