Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead patient care efforts within the department, supporting the Chief Nursing Officer and ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care across units.

The role emphasizes education, advocacy, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. A BSN is preferred and CA RN licensure is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Graduation from Registered Nurse Program; BSN preferred.
• California RN license required or in process.
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred; ortho/stroke experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Planning delivery of patient care for the shift; assist charge nurse.
• Directing: precepting and competency validation for new hires and procedures.
• Teaching nursing students and delegating to RNs, LVNs, and CNAs as needed.
• Coordinating assigned team and communicating expectations for interventions.
• Identifying improvement opportunities and reporting through chain of command.
