About the Role:

As the Lead MDS Coordinator, you will oversee the entire MDS process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state regulations. You will lead a team of MDS coordinators, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and coordinate the MDS (Minimum Data Set) process to ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
  2. Supervise and mentor the MDS team to ensure consistent quality and performance.
  3. Oversee assessments, care planning, and documentation to reflect the resident’s clinical status and needs accurately.
  4. Provide education and guidance to staff on RAI processes, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care outcomes and reimbursement.
  6. Conduct regular audits to ensure MDS accuracy and compliance.
  7. Stay updated on changes to federal and state regulations related to the MDS process.

Qualifications:

  1. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida
  2. Minimum 3–5 years of MDS coordination experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role.
  3. RAC-CT (Resident Assessment Coordinator - Certified) certification preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and RAI guidelines.
  5. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  6. Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced, large-scale facility.
