Job summary

Qualifications

• RN license in California is required.
• 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience or KP L&D course within the last 12 months.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required; Advanced Fetal Monitoring certificate preferred within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct, review, assign, and organize the work of at least three employees, including another RN.
• Provide professional leadership and direction to maintain efficient delivery of patient care.
• Coordinate departmental operations and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
• Participate in patient flow activities including admissions and discharges.
• Conduct audits to ensure accurate documentation and care plans.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and staff competencies.
• Adjust staffing to ensure care quality and safety.
• Motivate staff to improve performance and outcomes.
