Job summary

CARTI is seeking a Lead Registered Nurse to coordinate and validate the nursing team's work and serve as a clinical knowledge resource. The role maintains patient care assignments without formal supervisory authority.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, care planning, medication administration, IV access, emergency response, and cross-team coordination. Requires ADN/BSN, AR RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 90 days, and oncology chemotherapy certification within 90 days if applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires ADN or BSN with active RN licensure in Arkansas (or multi-state via NLC).
• BLS required at hire; ACLS within 90 days where department requires.
• Chemotherapy certification within 90 days for Oncology/Infusion nurses.
• Minimum four years of licensed RN experience; at least one year in the specialty.
• Strong IV therapy and injection skills; proficient with CEUs to maintain license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per nursing process and scope of RN practice.
• Assess and respond to patient condition changes with provider communication.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care with interdisciplinary team.
• Administer meds and treatments; document response.
• Establish peripheral IV access as needed; respond to emergencies (BLS/ACLS).
• Educate patients and families on disease, treatment, and self-management.
• Coordinate care across continuum; manage referrals and transitions.
• Document nursing care in EMR per standards; ensure workflow efficiency.
• Support orientation and competency development for staff and students.
