Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of one-year nursing experience, preferred
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred.
• BLS Provider CPR required at hire; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS/ENPC/TNCC requirements within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel using the nursing process and teamwork.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family, and health team members in care and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with other health team members.
• Participate in defining standards of excellence and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and act as a point of contact for policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
