Peraton Labs in Maryland seeks a Principal RF Research Scientist to lead cutting-edge R&D in RFML, DSP, and SDR, driving prototypes from concept to demonstration. This on-site role collaborates with our government customer to shape new work through whitepapers and technical leadership.

This role requires full-time on-site work at a customer site near College Park, MD, with a strong background in RF fundamentals, ML, and distributed teams.

Qualifications

Minimum of 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with a Master’s, or 8+ years with a Ph.D. in CS or related field.
Deep expertise in RFML, DSP, and/or SDR/wireless prototyping.
Strong RF fundamentals: sampling, modulation, channel effects, noise/interference, link budgets, synchronization, detection/estimation.
Hands-on development in Python and/or C/C++ in SCIF environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design, development, and prototyping of RF sensing/communications solutions.
Develop and evaluate DSP algorithms for real-world RF environments.
Apply ML/DL approaches to RF problems.
Implement research prototypes in Python, C, C++, Java, etc.
Integrate and test algorithms on SDR platforms (USRP-class) using GNU Radio.
Produce technical artifacts and contribute to publications/patents.
