Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking an interdisciplinary RF Test System Engineer to own the full lifecycle of RF test systems and hardware development for spacecraft avionics and payload sub-systems. You will lead design validation, calibration, and test automation while collaborating with multiple engineering teams to ensure robust space-grade hardware.

The role requires strong problem solving, ability to operate in ambiguity, and a commitment to high standards. Export control compliance applies for U.S.

Qualifications

  • Experience coding in scripting languages such as Python, R, Matlab, or STATA.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing test plans for complex aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics systems.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and integrating test systems for hardware/PCBA validation.
  • Experience with RF path loss calibration, measurement uncertainty analysis, and signal chain characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, build, and sustain RF test systems for satellite modems, transceivers, BUCs, LNBs, and ground equipment through design validation, qualification, production and on-orbit support.
  • Support hardware and software development activities including RF subsystem design, integration, and characterization.
  • Perform RF test system-level path loss calibration, link budget analysis, and end-to-end signal chain verification.
  • Own test planning end-to-end: decompose verification requirements into testable specifications, develop test procedures, and lead test readiness reviews.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, firmware, and manufacturing teams on verification strategy.
