Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks an interdisciplinary RF Test System Development Engineer to own end-to-end RF test system development for spacecraft avionics. You will oversee hardware and software, calibration, and BOM CAD design, serving as the Responsible Engineer across test activities and production support.

The role emphasizes rapid problem-solving in a high-ambiguity space, collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, and driving scalable test solutions for next-gen satellite missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing and executing test plans for complex aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics systems.
• 5+ years designing and integrating test systems for hardware/PCBA validation.
• Experience with RF path loss calibration, measurement uncertainty analysis, and signal chain characterization.
• Experience with RF measurement equipment including power meters, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, and sustain RF test systems for satellite modems, transceivers, BUCs, LNBs, and ground equipment.
• Support hardware and software development activities including RF subsystem design, integration, and characterization.
• Perform RF test system-level path loss calibration, link budget analysis, and end-to-end verification.
• Own test system CAD design including rack layout, cable routing, mechanical fixtures, and documentation.
• Drive cross-functional alignment on verification strategy across electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and manufacturing.
• Automate and optimize test processes to meet production rate and first-pass yield targets.
