Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Goleta, CA seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer to lead RF antenna design for space and airborne platforms. You will own projects from initial studies through design and testing, collaborating across locations.

The role requires strong RF/antenna skills, experience with test equipment, and familiarity with HFSS, CST, GRASP10, and CHAMP. Occasional travel and a security clearance path may apply.

Qualifications

• RF microwave and antenna theory experience.
• Experience with microwave test equipment and analyzers.
• Familiarity with HFSS/CST/GRASP10/CHAMP.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine RF antenna components for airborne/space use.
• Lead work across Northrop Grumman locations; contribute in design/analysis, manufacturing, testing.
• Generate CAD drawings, RF models, and analysis exports for system-level reviews.
• Manage multiple priorities; communicate clearly with program team and customers.
• Operate and maintain the on-site antenna test facility.
