Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a reliable Cashier/Stocker who can perform frontline duties, lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, and maintain plan-o-grams while providing exemplary customer service. The role includes unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and assisting customers with finding items.

You will operate the cash register, process transactions, accept payments, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to use IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, safety, and loss prevention policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store processes.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safe work environment.
• Operate cash register, bag merchandise, and make change.
• Process refunds and overrides as authorized.
• Monitor cash levels and cash control procedures.
• Keep front-end area clean and organized.
