Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker lead to perform cashier duties and stock management, stepping in for the Store Manager in their absence. The role emphasizes customer service, plan-o-grams, and loss prevention while supporting profitability and teamwork.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, pricing, and assisting customers. The position requires adherence to procedures and a commitment to a safe, organized store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures incl. cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves; maintain plan-o-grams and displays.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide superior service.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and make change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; assist in end-of-shift duties.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
• Monitor cash levels and support cashier accountability when needed.
