Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support daily operations and lead when the Store Manager is absent. You will manage stock, greet customers, and efficiently process transactions while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include packing, merchandising, plan-o-grams, and maintaining a clean store. Prior experience preferred; college or advanced training not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and open cartons per store process.
• Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise; rotate and display.
• Maintain plan-o-grams and merchandise presentations.
• Greet customers and assist in locating items.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and bag purchases.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and stockroom.
