Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership qualities to assist in store operations, provide excellent customer service, and help maintain plan-o-grams. The role supports store profitability and asset protection while ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include stocking, front-end operations, and assisting in opening/closing under management guidance. Prior supervisory exposure and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate and face stock.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register and scanner; bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Maintain clean and organized front end; setup sidewalk displays.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open/close store under guidance; process refunds/overrides when authorized.
• Monitor cash levels and security practices; support bank deposits when directed.
