Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can step into a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent. You will help set and maintain plan-o-grams, provide exemplary customer service, and work to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

As part of daily duties you will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, assist customers, operate the cash register, and keep the front end clean

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following store processes.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases and bag items.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Greet customers entering the store and maintain a welcoming front-end.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
