Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier and/or Stocker who can act in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Manager is absent. You will assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, provide exemplary customer service, and work to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets.

Daily duties include unloading trucks, stocking and rotating merchandise, maintaining displays, assisting customers, handling transactions,

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematics including percentages and change.
• Familiarity with cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions is a plus.
• Understanding and application of safety and loss prevention policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Supervisory experience or related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes per processes.
• Stock, rotate, face, and display merchandise.
• Restock returned and recovered items.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise, handle payments.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and assist with deposits.
