Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a reliable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations in Houston. The role includes cashier duties, stocking merchandise, and assisting in maintaining plan-o-grams and displays while delivering excellent customer service.

You will contribute to profitability and customer satisfaction, support in-store programs, and help protect company assets. This position may require leadership in the absence of store management and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Experience with cash handling and checkout procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide assistance.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and a safe working environment.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
