Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Cashier/Stocker in Mansfield, OH to lead in the absence of store management. You will assist with plan-o-gram implementation, stock and display merchandise, and provide exemplary customer service while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, receiving shipments, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment. Prior supervisory exposure is preferred, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to use IBM cash register functions.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments per Store Manager instructions.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety (dust, mop, trash, restrooms, stockroom).
• Greet customers and manage front-end area.
• Operate cash register and scanner; bag and total purchases; give change.
• Set up sidewalk displays and maintain a clean, organized store.
• Provide customer service leadership and follow SOPs and handbook policies.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction; sign refunds/overrides; count registers; manage cash.
