Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of the Store Manager, manage plan-o-gram tasks, and deliver exemplary customer service. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist customers, and maintain store cleanliness and security to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

The role involves operating the register, handling payments, and supporting daily store operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and a safe environment.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
• Authorize refunds and sign for overrides in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Monitor cash levels and make appropriate drawer pulls as directed by the Store Manager.
