Job summary

ServiceMaster CDR in Ohio is seeking a Lead Fire & Contents Restoration Technician to perform fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, cleaning, contents handling, and equipment setup. You will document progress and communicate with homeowners, managers, and adjusters to ensure high-quality service.

The role requires hands-on restoration experience, strong work ethic, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean record

• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Perform fire and smoke damage restoration tasks, including demolition, cleaning, setup, pack-outs, and debris removal
• Safely move and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and contents
• Operate restoration tools and equipment with proper care
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software
• Collaborate with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite; manage company vehicles and equipment
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed

What You’ll Do:

• Perform all aspects of fire and smoke damage restoration, including demolition, structural cleaning, contents cleaning, equipment setup, pack-outs, and debris removal
• Safely pack, move, clean, and restore fire-damaged personal belongings and commercial contents
• Operate a variety of restoration tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care
• Accurately document job progress, inventory, and customer interactions using restoration software (e.g., Contents Track, iCAT, Restore 365)
• Work directly with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and project leads to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery
• Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and professional worksite, and keep company vehicles and equipment ready and organized
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed

What You Bring:

• Some hands-on experience in fire or smoke damage restoration (residential or commercial)
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive, can-do attitude
• Solid customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined or challenging spaces, and wear PPE (including respirators) when required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Tech-savvy and able to learn or use mobile devices and job-tracking software
• IICRC FSRT & OCT certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain)
