Join Our Team as a Lead Respiratory Therapist at Lock Haven Hospital!
Are you passionate about respiratory care and looking for a lead role? Lock Haven Hospital seeks a dedicated and experienced Lead Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work 12-hour shifts, either days or nights, with specific hours to be discussed during the interview. You’ll also have every other weekend off and follow a block schedule for holidays. Please note that hours may change based on department needs.
This role is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus!
Sign-On Bonus Details:
- 0-1 years of experience = $12,000 - with a 2-year commitment
- 1+ years of experience = $20,000 - with a 2-year commitment

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Coordination: Manage scheduling needs, direct shift assignments, resolve problems, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement activities, special projects, and clinical research initiatives.
- Clinical Excellence: Perform all duties of a Senior Respiratory Therapist, including assessing patient conditions, operating respiratory equipment, and monitoring patient responses to therapy.
- Resource Management: Oversee the utilization of departmental resources, coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance, and maintain accurate records.

- Education:
- Graduate from a respiratory program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
- An associate’s degree is required, but a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- You need a total of four years of experience in respiratory care.
- At least 2 of those years must be in critical care.
- Projects:
- You must complete 2 approved projects from the department’s Project List each year during your performance review period.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the state where you will be working.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
- You must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- If you received your RRT credential after July 1, 2002, you must maintain your certification according to NBRC requirements.
- Additional Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- CPR certification based on American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including both a classroom and skills demonstration component, must be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Osteopathic Respiratory Care or Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Act 33 clearance with renewal.
- Act 34 clearance with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI clearance with renewal.
