Job summary

Vista Ridge Care and Rehabilitation is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support a new pulmonary program in a skilled nursing facility. You will perform respiratory care per physician orders, adhere to policies, and contribute to preventing rehospitalizations.

Under Pulmonary Program Coordinator supervision, the RT will execute treatments, monitor progress, and collaborate with nurses, infection prevention, and physicians to optimize resident health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Possesses and maintains an active CRT or RRT credential.
• Current ACLS and BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of pulmonary aspects within licensure of the facility.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and interventions.
• Assess patient pain interfering with rehabilitation and coordinate care.
• Follows infection control and equipment sterilization procedures.
• Documents data in the patient’s medical record after pulmonary program activities.
• Operates and inspects respiratory therapy equipment for safe function.
• Formulates care plans including family education where appropriate.
• Assesses patient tolerance and response to treatments.
• Attends in-service education to maintain competency.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by department manager.
• In charge therapist role: daily shift operations and emergencies coordination.
