Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL, is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist to oversee patient respiratory care and implement treatment plans. The role focuses on ventilator management, patient assessments, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality, efficient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates) with active Florida RRT/CRT licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire, and a minimum of 3 years’

Qualifications

• AMA-approved respiratory care program completed (Associate Degree).
• Florida license as RRT or CRT (active).
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a licensed Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage acute care ventilators for short and long-term ventilation.
• Develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan for patients.
• Maintain department and hospital records and input data into the hospital system.
• Set up and administer routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures for patients of all ages.
