Job summary

Fairview Park Hospital, a nearly 200-bed acute care facility in Dublin, Georgia, is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist. You will assess patients, administer therapies, and manage ventilation while coordinating with physicians and care teams.

The role requires ARRT/RCP credentials, an associate degree, and at least two years of relevant experience. Support for neonatal resuscitation and overall patient care is provided within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • ACLS within 6 months of start date.
  • BCLS within 30 days of start date.
  • Newborn/neonate resuscitation training within 30 days.
  • PALS within 6 months of start date.
  • State-credentialed Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner required.
  • Associate Degree is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents patient assessment including breath sounds and airway patency.
  • Administers respiratory therapies (oxygen delivery, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy).
  • Assists with artificial airways and manages mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitors patient response and escalates care with provider input.
  • Documents care in the medical record and coordinates with team.
  • Supports neonatal resuscitation and patient transport as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Performs and documents patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Conducts diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.

Administers respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.

Assists with placement of artificial airways. Initiates, monitors, and maintains mechanical ventilation.

Monitors patient for therapeutic response. Notifies provider and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.

Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record.

Assists with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.

Responds to emergent patient situations and ensures airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Assists at deliveries as requested for neonatal resuscitation and/or stabilization.

Follows Standard Precautions, using personal protective equipment as required.

Instructs patient and family members about patient condition and proper methods of respiratory therapy.

Serves as a clinical resource. Provides or assists in direct care when appropriate to complex patients. Consults with physicians and other healthcare providers to communicate patient progress.

Performs a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment. Facilitates needed repairs and preventive maintenance.

Performs all other applicable duties as defined in the professional scope of practice and hospital policies.

Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
  • Associate Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
