Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist to oversee staff and patient respiratory care operations. The role requires an RRT credential, an active Missouri respiratory practitioner license, and the ability to train and mentor staff.

You will coordinate daily shift activities, ensure policy adherence, and provide emergency response when needed. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are essential for this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in respiratory care preferred.
• Current licensure: BLS HCP, NBRC RRT, and Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or associates.
• Serves as a technical or clinical resource and performs similar duties with staff.
• Assigns, monitors and reviews progress of work and ensures policy compliance.
• Oversees orientation and training of staff; may evaluate staff performance.
• May perform duties of a Respiratory Care Practitioner and provide emergency support.
