The role requires CA licensure, AMA-approved program, and 5 years acute care with 1 year critical care. ACLS/PALS and BLS are essential, with focus on patient safety and teamwork.

Competenze

• Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in California.
• Minimum 5 years acute care with 1 year critical care.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Blood gas sampling and arterial puncture experience.

Mansioni

• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilation per protocol.
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling.
• Extubate patients per ICU protocol.
• Provide comprehensive patient reports at shift change.
• Consult with physicians to optimize prescribed therapy.
• Assess oxygen therapy needs with pulse oximetry.
