Builders FirstSource is seeking a Senior Structural Truss Designer in Idaho Falls. You will craft detailed layouts and buildable designs, acting as the technical liaison with customers, engineers, and architects to ensure projects meet goals, budgets, and schedules.

The role emphasizes independent work, field visits, and mentoring, with a focus on adhering to codes and delivering high-quality residential structural solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4+ years drafting/design in construction, building materials, or structural design.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/construction blueprints.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Create detailed layouts, structural plans, and material specifications based on customer needs.
• Serve as technical representative through design, purchasing, and construction.
• Analyze requirements and perform structural evaluations from simple to complex.
• Review plans with customers and provide expert recommendations.
• Interpret concept drawings into buildable designs and generate material lists.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and customers to resolve design issues.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and regulations.
• Identify issues and propose practical cost/time-saving solutions.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
• Assist with training and mentoring teammates.
• Support process improvements in design tools and workflows.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and customer service.
