Job summary

SHL is seeking a Residential Landscape Construction Project Engineer to support customer-facing operations and deliver a distinctive landscape project on time and to spec. You will bridge clients, designers, production, and general contractors to align evolving needs with the plan and drive a high-quality result.

You will lead client discussions, interpret designs, and manage schedules, costs, and communications.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10-15 years of project management experience in high-end residential home building or landscape construction in Southern California.
Knowledge of landscape construction including grading, drainage, irrigation, hardscapes, planting, and lighting.
Ability to read and interpret plans and details.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Energetic, self-motivated with strong organizational skills and proactive planning.

Responsibilities

Lead upfront discussions with clients to frame the opportunity for designers.
Develop a full understanding of the project design and the customer’s vision.
Manage schedule, contractors, and critical path to meet deadlines.
Maintain proactive communication with clients, designers, production leadership and vendors.
Oversee on-site projects daily or weekly, track progress and costs, and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
Document everything and ensure quality meets industry standards.
