Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, OH is seeking a Senior/Lead Residential HVAC System & Application Engineer. You will align residential compression design with system-level performance, working with R&D and product teams to optimize designs, testing, and qualification practices for world-class efficiency.

You will lead system-application guidance, support FMEAs, develop technical docs, and collaborate with global teams to deliver reliable HVAC solutions in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical preferred.
• At least 10 years in HVAC system design.
• 5 years in North American residential ducted split system design.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system design and field app.
• Experience with HVAC system modeling and design tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for residential HVAC system knowledge and guide design/operation.
• Collaborate with R&D and product management to align designs with requirements.
• Provide expert system guidance and support FMEAs.
• Create technical documentation and training materials for teams and partners.
• Work with Reliability/QE to optimize life testing and field profiles.
• Perform testing, simulations, and performance evaluations using HVAC modeling tools.
• Stay updated on UL/AHRI/ASHRAE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with customers to validate applicability of technologies.
