Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years experience in transportation, management, logistics or waste industry.
• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Knowledge of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established routes and adheres to DOT guidelines.
• Oversees work of helpers and drivers on designated routes.
• Ensures proper collection and transfer of garbage, recyclables, and yard waste.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintains vehicle cleanliness.
• Completes required reports and documentation on safety and operations.
• Addresses customer questions and dispatches issues with drivers as needed.
