Job summary

Vinfen is seeking a Residential Counselor to work in an Intensive GLE residential setting in Hanson, MA. You will support Persons Served (PS) in living independently and assist with treatment plans, medication administration, and crisis intervention.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to the right and ability of PS to live, work and participate in their community
• Ability to build trusting relationships with PS, families and neighbors
• Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability and gender issues

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director in orienting PS new to the residence.
• Implement Treatment Plan interventions as directed by Clinical Program Director.
• Perform day-to-day assignments per Clinical Program Director.
• Use recovery-oriented, person-centered and harm-reduction approaches with PS.
• Adhere to safety, maintenance and Human Rights policies.
• Serve as Medication Officer, Safety Officer and Human Rights Officer as assigned.
• Schedule and lead weekly PS group meetings in the residence.
• Assist with grocery shopping and meal preparation for the residence.
• Ensure licensing standards and regulatory compliance are met.
• Administer, document and dispose of PS medications per MAP policies.
• Support PS at medical and psychiatric appointments as needed.
• Encourage social interaction and collaboration with PS, families and friends.
• Be a resource for neighbors and advocate for PS and access to services.
• Promote healthcare and employment services access for PS.
• Participate in trainings, supervision and staff meetings; assist with staff orientation.
• Complete documentation and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide crisis intervention and access on-call backup when needed.
• Complete incident documentation and routine maintenance tasks.
