Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Construction Foreman to lead the Harrison County, West Virginia rebuild project. You will oversee residential construction from foundation to final inspection, coordinate with site teams and volunteers, and ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school and three to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection, is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and processes.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Highly effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Project Superintendent, Volunteer Coordinators, and Logistics Coordinators to design and construct homes that bring hope to the affected community.
  • Engage with on-site volunteer teams, providing hands-on training and support. Guide team members to ensure they understand their roles and contribute effectively to the construction process.
  • Uphold the highest quality standards by overseeing project progress, ensuring budget compliance, and maintaining craftsmanship.
  • Safeguard materials and equipment with strict inventory control and security measures.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all projects to ensure adherence to laws and codes and communicate progress and needs to volunteers and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
