Job summary

Canopy Children's Solutions is seeking a Lead Residential Care Specialist to oversee youth care at the CARES Center. The role balances supervision with direct care, ensuring safety, therapeutic engagement, and continuity of care across units.

You will mentor Residential Care Specialists, coordinate training, and participate in team meetings to support youth and families. Ideal candidates have experience with children/adolescents, supervisory background, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents.
• Experience at CARES preferred.
• Some college preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Must read, write, speak English and communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Assign RCSs to units for the shift and supervise direct reports.
• Provide on-the-job training for new hires in their first week.
• Lead staff debriefs after significant events and coordinate safety pass-down meetings.
• Attend Child and Family Team meetings and share notes when needed.
• Ensure continuity of care across units during shifts.
• Teach youth activities of daily living and social skills; support coping and pro-social goals.
• Respond to emergencies and use safe physical intervention per policy.
