We’re looking for a Lead Researcher, Predictive Experience to help build a new way of understanding and anticipating customer behavior across digital experiences.
This isn’t a traditional UX Research role. We’re looking for someone who can bring together behavioral research, predictive modeling, experimentation, AI, and first-party customer data to help product teams learn earlier and make better decisions before experiences go live.
What You’ll Do:
- Build predictive models and simulations to anticipate how customers may respond to new digital experiences.
- Explore synthetic customer and AI-assisted research methods to test hypotheses and experience directions earlier in the product lifecycle.
- Combine behavioral data with qualitative research to understand both what customers are likely to do and why.
- Validate predictions against real customer behavior and continuously improve models as new evidence becomes available.
- Design experiments and research around the biggest areas of uncertainty.
- Determine when predictive or synthetic evidence is strong enough to inform a decision and when live customer research or A/B testing is still needed.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Analytics, Research, and Data Science teams.
- Translate complex models and research findings into clear recommendations for product and business leaders.
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience across UX research, behavioral science, data science, experimentation, or related disciplines.
- Strong foundation in applied statistics, experimental design, causal inference, and A/B testing.
- Working fluency in Python or R and SQL.
- Hands-on qualitative research experience and the ability to connect behavioral data with customer motivations and context.
- Hands-on experience using AI across research, modeling, simulation, analysis, or prototyping.
- Ability to clearly communicate model confidence, uncertainty, and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with digital analytics or experimentation platforms such as Quantum Metric, Amplitude, Adobe, Optimizely, or similar.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with synthetic customers, agent-based modeling, behavioral simulation, propensity, uplift, or choice modeling.
- Experience with conversational AI, agentic experiences, or other AI-enabled customer experiences.
- Experience in high-volume digital environments such as ecommerce, marketplaces, on-demand services, travel, hospitality, home services, automotive, or complex B2B platforms.
This is a senior individual contributor opportunity where you’ll have the chance to build a new capability from the ground up and influence how an organization uses research, behavioral data, experimentation, and AI to make better product decisions.
