Job summary
The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurology, is seeking a Research Scientist to lead a project on divergent and convergent mechanisms of Parkinson's disease after environmental toxicant exposure. You will design and execute properly powered in vitro assays, analyze data, and prepare figures and grant materials.
The successful candidate will train undergraduates and technicians, collaborate with lab members, and contribute to manuscripts.
Qualifications
- Professional Doctorate Degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant research experience.
- Experience with in vitro assays and data analysis.
- Strong writing and grant preparation skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and perform properly powered in vitro assays using cell lines.
- Analyze and graph data, prepare figures for publications and grant applications.
- Present data at lab meetings and conferences.
- Write manuscripts and assist in grant proposals.
- Review literature and maintain the lab database.
- Supervise and train technicians and undergraduates; communicate with collaborators.
- Possess knowledge of in vivo rodent work and molecular biology techniques.
