Job summary

The New York State Education Department seeks a Research Scientist 3 to lead research and evaluation efforts for the Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Initiative.

The incumbent will design complex studies using linked education, workforce, health, and human services data; serve as subject matter expert on data governance and integration; oversee advanced statistical analyses; manage external research partnerships; and supervise professional research staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of professional research experience in an appropriate field (Master's may substitute for one year; Ph.D. for an additional year).
• Advanced statistical analysis and research methodology expertise.
• Experience with data governance, data integration, and longitudinal studies.
• Leadership and supervisory experience with professional research and analytic staff.
• Knowledge of research quality standards and responsible data utilization practices.
