The University of Texas at Arlington (UTARI) is seeking a Research Scientist III to join the Advanced Computational Composite Mechanics (ACCM) group. This full‑time role focuses on design, development, and advancing computational tools for performance prediction in advanced composite materials, with opportunities to lead projects and pursue grant opportunities.

The position combines lab work and project management, with travel to conferences and sponsor facilities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and eight (8) years of relevant experience, or twelve (12) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• U.S. citizen required for the position.

Responsabilidades

• Develops computational models and software; conducts model setup and parametric studies; compares results with experiments.
• Identifies funding opportunities; contributes to or leads writing efforts, including proposals and reports.
• Supervises junior staff and students.
• Develops collaborations with academia, industry, and government.
• Writes technical reports and scientific papers.
• Presents at scientific conferences and technical meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
