CIRES at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a Research Scientist in atmospheric chemistry in NOAA's CSL program in Boulder, CO. The role leads development and deployment of advanced instrumentation for aircraft and ground-based measurements, and integrates observations with chemical transport models.

The successful candidate will independently develop research directions, mentor junior researchers, and collaborate with NOAA, CIRES, and international partners. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in chemistry, atmospheric science, or physics is required.
• Strong leadership in instrument development and field measurements.
• Experience leading collaborations and mentoring junior researchers.
• Ability to integrate observations with atmospheric models and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, characterization, and deployment of advanced atmospheric instrumentation.
• Lead and participate in atmospheric field research.
• Conduct independent scientific analysis and research.
• Integrate atmospheric observations and chemical modeling.
• Communicate scientific results and develop future research activities.
• Provide scientific leadership and mentorship.
• Perform other relevant duties as necessary.
