University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a High Performance Computing Administrator to lead the management of its first HPC cluster. You will coordinate technical planning and work with faculty and students to advance their research projects.

The role sits on the Main UNCW Campus with 1.0 FTE and a permanent status, requiring strong Linux and HPC skills, and experience in software and hardware integration.

Qualifications

• Masters with 2+ years or Bachelor's with 4+ years in Computer Science, Information Systems or STEM.
• Two+ years of Linux administration experience.
• Experience with HPC systems, including hardware/software installation, maintenance, scheduling, storage, and interconnects.
• Proficiency with C/C++, Java, R, Python, Bash, and/or other scripting languages.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical management and planning of the university's first HPC cluster.
• Collaborate with faculty and students to facilitate the research mission.
